Sophomore Ryan Hughes and senior Camden Brazile rehearse a scene for the upcoming musical “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”

The Dionysian Players will present the musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum  Feb. 21- 23 at 7:00 p.m.

“The musical is very funny, broad, and physical,” Theatre Director Kurt Knoedelseder said. “It has its roots in Vaudeville and Burlesque, which lends itself to being very physical and silently off-color sometimes.”

It will star seniors Camden Brazile and Jack Laurie, and sophomores Ryan Hughes and Nico Del Pietro. Ten girls from other schools will also be performing.

“This is some of the most talented people I have ever worked with,” Brazile said. “I am very excited for show night and the opportunity to show off all of our hard work.”

This was the first musical performed by the Dionysian Players 48 years ago. Tickets can be purchased through Assistant Director Ryan Sextro or at the door if not sold out.

“This play is going to make you laugh,” Knoedelseder said. “For the cheap price of $10, watching your classmates perform and sing is worth the watch.”
