Battlefront Excites

Developer DICE took on the tough task of creating the newest Star Wars Battlefront and they succeeded. It has been 10 years since the last Battlefront came out so there are some immense improvements to the game.

Battlefront does not have a traditional campaign like other games, but it does have multiple missions that can be completed at various difficulties. Numerous missions are based off of movies scenes in the old trilogy like the speeder bike chase on Endor, or the battle of Hoth with the AT-ATs. The missions were enjoyable for a small amount of time but then start to get boring as they are very short and do not have an overarching goal or story like campaigns.

This game is a must buy for any star wars fan or gamer who appreciates first person shooter games.

The most impressive part of the game is the online multiplayer aspect much like Call of Duty and Battlefield. The online part of the game features many different game modes to suit the players’ moods at the time. The modes range from traditional deathmatch style called blast, to playing with and protecting what the game calls heroes. Heroes are main characters, or Jedi in the star wars movies like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett.  A new and addicting game mode called Fighter Squadron is a ten versus ten dogfight style where one team plays as X-Wings or A-Wings and the other team plays as TIE fighters or TIE Interceptors.

Throughout all of the game types, whether missions or any of the online plays, the graphics are stunning and sharp. No matter which of the twelve different maps, gamers can count on outstanding visuals. On Dec. 1, DICE had a DLC of Jakku, a new planet to play on. It has also been confirmed by DICE that more DLC maps and game modes will be released to coincide with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Overall, the game is thoroughly enjoyable especially for people who have played the original Battlefronts in the past. This game is a must buy for any star wars fan or gamer who appreciates first person shooter games.
