Juniors get first opportunity to experience Kairos retreat
Kairos literally translates to opportunity or a propitious moment for action or decision. The first Kairos retreat begins on Jan. 17. It is the first Kairos the juniors will be able to go on and #107 in the school’s history. Students will leave at 8 a.m and will be going to King’s House Retreat Center in Illinois and they will be there until Friday.
“I am excited for the opportunity in prayer and getting to know my classmates better and getting to know myself better in a religious context,” junior Sean Feltz said. “This is where people have said they have made the biggest turning point and how Kairos has changed them a lot and I am excited about what Kairos entails.”
The students have very little to no information going into the retreat. They will participate in reflections, mass, and other activities on the retreat. Participants going on the retreat are not sure what to expect because people who already experienced Kairos are not supposed to tell any details about it.
“I am excited about growing in faith with my friends,” junior Blake Hilker said. “Growing closer with God and creating a stronger bond with God.”
