“I was ecstatic when I was named as a man of the year, and it caught be a little by surprise as it was not really something I acknowledged until this year. I put it on myself to continue working and meet to requirements to get man of the year. I heard from a teacher recognition does not necessarily mean achievement, and that makes a man of the year, to achieve without needing recognition.”

“It was a huge relief when I received the award, as I have been working all four years to achieve it. I was not really surprised, but it was an honor to have all of my four years of hard work show. It means that the school and faculty recognized my work inside and out of the De Smet community, and I am one of the men that leads De Smet to being a better place.”
Nolan Chickering
“I am very honored to be a man of the year, especially to be selected with all of these other great guys in my class. I was not really expecting to be selected as on of the men of the year. Means a lot to be a part of a De Smet legacy that will continue to go down.”

Frank Marcallini
“I was extremely happy when I won and it felt amazing to see my hard work had an impact on the school and my classmates.
