Sophomore art student earns area journalism honor
Sophomore Darrian Sandoz displays the editorial cartoon that earned him a Superior rating in the News Art division of JournalismSTL 2016 News Contest.
Sophomore Darrian Sandoz is one of three St. Louis area students to receive a Superior rating in the News Art division of the Journalism STL 2016 News and Online contest.
Sandoz received the honor for his cartoon about Syrian refugees, which appeared in the December issue of The Mirror along with the staff editorial “Anti-Refugees is Anti-American.”
The article and cartoon were both featured on bestofsno.com, the website which showcases student journalists in the School Newspapers Online network.
