1917

“1917” is an action-packed movie about World War I. It takes place in France with a lot of gunshots and bombs going off all around the 2 soldiers and it makes you feel like they could get shot at any moment.

The movie is about two British soldiers named Schofield and Blake that are sent out to cancel a fail attack that would lead to 1600 British deaths with Blake’s brother being one of them.

The actors in 1917 were amazing and the way they acted made you feel like you were at war with them. The way the actors carelessly walk by dead bodies washed up shows what war can do to you and how that can become a normal sight to some people in a short time. Another thing the actors did well was still remaining human with human-like tendencies. I think in war everyone is just cold-blooded and forgets that they are extremely scared like a regular person would be. They show this by slowly breathing to calm themselves down during combat.

Something I liked about the movie is that this film was made to look like it was all one continuous shot with no noticeable cuts or transitions making this movie an absolute cinematic masterpiece. This could be seen as a symbol of the war they were in because the camera always moving with no cuts shows you that you couldn’t rest and had to keep moving to survive. This gives me a feeling that I’m actually in the war with them. I did not like the fact that there wasn’t a lot of character put into the actors. I wish there was more to them to know than just that their war soldiers and one has a brother.

This helped me understand more that war is actually hell, the more I know about war and the more I watch more movies about it the more awful I know what it is like. I think this will also make others will know how bad war really is.

I think a large group of people would like this movie, ranging from high schoolers who like action-packed war movies to 50-year-old dads who still find this amazing movie interesting. This movie is rated R because of gore and intense scenes. Overall I would say this is an amazing movie.
