Christmas vacation

National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. The movie starts with the Griswold family’s search for the perfect Christmas tree and ends with the Griswold family and a SWAT team singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” to a flying, flaming Santa Claus decoration.
The adventures of Clark Griswold, played by Chevy Chase, his wife Ellen, played by Beverly D’Angelo, and their family have plenty of ups and downs that are sure to have anybody laughing. An unexpected visit from their RV driving cousin, Eddie, and his family leads to all sorts of funny antics. Mr. Griswold manages to cause a city-wide power outage, burn a hole through his sled, and accidentally have his boss kidnapped, all while trying to have a ‘fun old-fashioned family Christmas.
Christmas vacation was released in 1989 and has made $71.5 million. During its first weekend, it was #2 in the Box Office behind Back to the Future Part II but quickly moved to the top place within the next few weeks. It was the third entry in the Vacation series by the National Lampoon and its first two home releases were on VHS and Laserdisc.
