The new game, Fortnite, came out in October and has been played all around the gaming community.

Looting, killing, hiding, and building are all major skills needed in the new game, Fortnite, created by Epic Games.

The game starts when your character jumps out of a flying school bus onto an island with 99 other players, and the object is to be the last man or team alive. There are four different types of games modes, singles, doubles, squads and 50v50. Singles is a free for all with no one on a team, while doubles and squads allow the player to team up with other friends playing the game. 50v50 was added in a new update on Dec 7. This new game mode splits up the 100 people into two teams to face off and be the last team standing.

To win, players must loot houses, villages, bridges, and chests to find guns or equipment in order to take down other players. Obtaining supplies such as wood, brick and metal allow the player to build, which gives the player an opportunity to build a base to protect themselves from enemy gunfire. The longer the game takes the smaller the map becomes because a storm that increasingly closes in to push players together. The storm forces players to play in a more confined area and makes them get into more firefights.

The game has drawn buzz to it since Playstation made it the free game of the month in October. Fortnite is similar to games such as Player Unknowns Battlegrounds and H1Z1 but added a new aspect to the game that has never been seen before, building. Building has brought a new strategic style to the game and changes the way players play. Ten million players have played the game since the release date and have not slowed down since then, it looks like Fortnite is here to stay.
