Travis Ford wins Desmet’s 3v3 Spartanfest Basketball Tournament. After school on Wednesday 15, ragtag basketball teams came together and competed for the Spartanfest championship.Travis Ford’s team including, Dalton Hahn, Ryan Thompson, and Colin Brown beat Team 11 who included Shakir Muhammad, Colin Goodman, and Jeremiah Walker.

“It’s not about me, it’s about the team”, Travis Ford’s player Dalton Hahn said. “I’m just happy to represent the team and the senior class.”

Team 11 was down early, but was able to comeback to provide a close finish.Team 11 continued to fight after tying up the game, but they were unable to contain Dalton from scoring and block Colin Brown’s game winner. The final game was one of the few games to have multiple fouls called in it. The game proved to be a tough physical contest.

“Feels good to win,” Travis Ford’s player Ryan Thompson said. “Colin was really the backbone of the team, Dalton was going big in the post, and I was floating around the three point line making plays.”

The 3v3 Basketball Tournament is the fourth of many fun activities to take place during Spartanfest. This years tournament had a lot of teams that played and had a much larger attendance of fans than in the past few years.

“It was very exciting, there was a lot of intensity showed on the court,” said junior Jay Dolan. “You could really tell the players gave the game all they had.”
