Lacrosse wins first MCC Preseason Championship

The lacrosse team is the first team to win the MCC Preseason Championship. The Spartans won the game over the CBC Cadets by a score of 11-6.

“It felt pretty good to be the first team to win it. Our coach really wanted to win, so it felt amazing to do it from him,” senior Michael McDonough said. “It also let other teams know we are a threat, not just another team.”

The team defeated Chaminade 11-8 Tuesday to advance to the Championship.The first regular season game for the Spartans is against Webster Groves on March 16 at 7:00 at De Smet.

“We got a lot of confidence out of the game,” senior Derek Radke said. “Winning state is our main goal and we plan to get ready for playoffs.”
