Ultimate Eight-Pete
May 15, 2015
After an amazing season, the Varsity Ultimate Frisbee team defeated SLUH 15-1 in the state championship finals game. That championship marks eight straight championships since 2008.
Next year, the team looks to catch another state ring. With ten juniors this season, the team should be able to improve in the coming season.
“The goal every year is to win a state championship,” said Coach Lenzini. Obviously, De Smet has been very good at achieving that goal in the last eight years. With the team’s past performance and experienced future juniors and seniors, some of whom are in their third year playing for the team, there is a good chance that the team will win its ninth state championship next year.
