Ain’t No Reason: Brett Dennen

Brett Dennen is my personal favorite artist because of his meaningful lyrics, and beautiful finger-picking guitar style. Ain’t No Reason is extremely relevant today because it takes issues that are prevalent in America right now.

Won’t You Come Over: Devendra Banhart

Devendra Banhart sings in a very unique style that allows you to actually feel what he is trying to convey. Banhart uses inflection to help the singing blend with the melody in order to create a smooth and unique sound.

The Staves is comprised of three sister with beautiful voices. They combine all three singers to create stunning vocal harmonies.

Multi-Love: Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Unknown Mortal Orchestra is incredible. They have an extremely psychedelic, and at times funky, sound like nothing I have ever heard. Each member is extremely skilled at their instrument. On a side note, they are one of the most outstanding bands to see live.

Daft Punk is playing at my house: LCD Soundsystem

LCD sound system is a great band with a different sound. They are a perfect blend of synthesizer and more traditional instruments like panio, guitar and drums. Their creative lyrics mixed with fun music make them perfect band to put you in a good mood.

Freaking Out The Neighborhood: Mac Demarco

Mac Demarco’s guitar melodies are simply elegant. He uses simple drum beats and simple guitar riffs that give his songs a relaxed feel; perfect for kicking back.

Old Pine: Ben Howard

Ben Howard has a very folky feel. His Acoustic guitar perfectly complements lyrical themes like childhood and nature. The best things about his songs are that they are timeless.

So Blonde: EMA

EMA is a band comprised of one woman, Erika Anderson. Her songs are relevant today because they deal with the current issues of society. She looks at things like the internet and violence from an extremely critical aspect.

When Winter’s Over: Torres

Torres is the stage name of Mackenzie Scott. Torres is a must listen to because she writes thought provoking and beautiful lyrics. Her first album, Torres, is calm and slow at times, but she took on a much more energetic and aggressive tone with her second album, Sprinter.
